. I bought a medical alert bracelet from Universal Medical ID and choose that company because my GP's surgery advertised that company.
. I felt details of my stroke/anti platelet medication would be useful if I needed medical intervention.
. I choose a silicone band with attached engraved stainless steel.
. But the stainless steel was only big enough to engrave 4 lines of information and each line had the room to accommodate limited information.
. You could only contact the company by email or phone between 3pm and 7 pm Eastern Standard time, then leave a message and the company employee would ring back.
. It took FOUR or FIVE months for the bracelet to arrive but the silicone band broke within 10 DAYS
It took another FOUR months for the replacement silicone band to arrive. I was told :-
(a) The replacement band had been lost by Australia Post.
(b) The replacement band had been sent to the wrong address.
(c) The replacement band would be sent by more secure postage by Fedex.
(d) The replacement band finally arrived by Australia Post not by Fedex.
(e) I was surprised it took 9 MONTHS from the original order, especially since the band was for medical purposes.
