Hi everyone
Each month, we're giving away a book written by a survivor of stroke. This month, it's Rebecca Schmidt-Lachlan’s Shit!! I’m 26 and had a Stroke.
Rebecca is an author, advocate and consultant. She focuses on disability inclusion and changing perceptions of people with disabilities. Shit!! I’m 26 and had a Stroke is an authentic short story based on the feelings and emotions of a life-changing experience.
Rebecca described her book as a very honest account and much-needed patient perspective for people working in the rehabilitation sector. She says it is also needed by people yet to encounter a traumatic life-changing event. Rebecca does not sugar coat anything. After years compiling the emotions, feelings, thoughts and events of her rehabilitation, Rebecca decided to share her lived experience to let others know they are not alone.
