Short film
My boyfriend's dad had a major hemorrhagic stroke last year. He's been living with us since discharge and I've written a short film which contains a part based on his parents' relationship. I really want this part to capture the sense of connection one can still have after a stroke and I want it to capture the depth of our love for our family.
I want to make the short film next year and the Stroke Foundation suggested I could reach out to this community for talent. My story is told from the perspective of a pool and in my story, Ari and Connell fall in love by the poolside - their love is sweet and vibrant, and the pool thinks of itself as their matchmaker. However, in the second part of the short film, Ari has a stroke and Connell help her with her rehab exercises in the pool. The pool witnesses just Connell's dedication to her and starts to understand the depth of human connection that can still exist even after a stroke.
If anyone in this community is interested in auditioning for Ari and are located near Cherrybrook, I would love to know. I would love to work with a stroke survivor in this role.
