Im just wondering if there are any young stroke survivors that meet in the Sydney area. I had a stroke last December due to a PFO - I have made a full recovery, however I am continuing to experience a lot anxiety and am just looking to connect with other people who have experienced or are experiencing similar.
Hi Sophie I'm not in Sydney I live on the Mornington Peninsula, Vic. I am post stroke 11th May 2019 and 17days later had a PFO closure. I truly understand and happy to connect if you would like. Even though recovery is good I completely understand the feels. Shelley

I'm not sure of face-to-face but genyus network – https://genyusnetwork.com/, https://www.facebook.com/groups/genyus – a peer-to-peer network of traumatic brain injury – hold weekly coffee clubs online as well as an online community in Facebook. People like you and I (i had a stroke nine years ago) can catch up and chat about anything.
There are also resources in the Young stroke Project website which was created to resonate with people –https://youngstrokeproject.org.au/resources/fatigue/. You can also register to receive communication. I'd also love to give you a call to chat about your story if you're keen. I completely get you with anxiety… It's something I try and grapple with constantly.

Hi Sophie, I also had a stroke due to a pfo on January 26 2021.
I can totally relate to the increased levels of anxiety post stroke. I'm also part of the Genyus network. I have found this group really supportive and helpful. You are not alone.
