Hi,
I am an Orthoptist (vision clinician) and researcher in Sydney, NSW. I have been speaking with a number of stroke survivors and health professionals and have noticed that the vision care provided to stroke survivors within NSW seems to vary quite a lot.
Some stroke survivors feel that they are not given enough information about their vision problems while in hospital and so don't know how to address these problems once they get back home. Many stroke health professionals also feel like they haven't got the resources and/or training to address vision problems as well as they'd like.
I would be interested to know what your thoughts and experiences are on this.
I am also conducting some formal research on this topic and would be happy for anyone who is interested to contact me about getting involved.
