Hi All, I had a stroke in December/18 at age 28. The doctors say is pretty uncommon at this age and the way it happened.
I also had a stroke during my holidays. I am trying to adapt to the new life, but it is not easy. I wanted to hear some stories or chat with someone that had the same problem.

Thank you for posting here on enableme. We are so sorry to hear about your recent stroke. There are many young survivors in our enableme community who will be able to share their experiences with you and offer peer support. Unfortunately, stroke can happen at any age and it does take time to adjust to what many of our community describe as the 'new normal'. Are you still undergoing rehabilitation and do you have good support?
Diana has given you some great links to check out. You may also be interested in checking out the Genyus Network and their Facebook group. There are also local stroke support groups that might interest you if you prefer face to face connection.

Hi Bruna, I have been to rehab with 16 year old stroke survivors and a 21 and a 25 year old. Unfortunately, survivors are getting younger, as seen on the stroke foundation blog.
Regardless of what age we are, it is a rough road for us all who have been through the ordeal of having a stroke, we all recover at a different pace.
Don't give up, the recovery period differs depending on the kind of stroke you have had.
Sometimes it's difficult explaining to people what you are going through but like I tell them, only a person who has gone through it will understand. Always remember there is so much help out there if you need it, it's good to have your own personal space sometimes but you can reach out to your doctor, the professionals, other survivors if you need them.

Good luck Bruna and don't give up with rehab or whatever is required to help you. My nephew had a stroke at 18 and he was so fit and no one ever thought he would have a stroke.
I have had rehab with 16 and 25 year olds. As many of the posts here from earlier on have shown, people are having strokes at a younger age and unfortunately it can happen to anyone

I'm 28 and had a stroke exactly 1 week ago :( I've been told the same thing, they still don't know why it happened (but it has only been 1 week). It definitely changes your outlook on life, at least for me it did. I'm a reasonably healthy, non-smoker and non-drinker.
It came as quite a shock to me and my family. It's hard making the little adjustments I need as a survivor and I have so many unanswered questions still.
