Hello my fellow survivors and carers!

My name is Rebecca and I am from Perth, WA. I am interested in starting a Young Survivor's Peer Support Group as there is absolutely nothing available for us.

A little about me - I had a massive hemorrhagic stroke following a partial tumour resection in the Cerebellum/Brain Stem area in November 2014. I was left unable paralyzed, unable to speak or see. With intensive rehabilitation, I have made a remarkable recovery.

I now have a passion for assisting other young ABI survivors as our needs and life experiences differ from those that are older.

I would love to gauge if there is any interest in a Young Support Group (say 18 - 40), with a focus on social interaction, and adjusting to life after stroke in a positive environment.

So please, feel free to comment or ask any questions!

Hi I'm using the name shadow. . I live in Perth WA and had a stroke on Sunday morning am still currently still in hospital am 35 this young survivor group sounds good to me especially being in WA.

Hi Rebecca,

I suffered a brain stem stroke 8 weeks ago too and suffered double vision n loss of pain and temperature sensation. Can you please tell me if you have suffered from these conditions and whether the symptoms have heal now?
