First Year Post Stroke
Who can believe its one year to the day that Ron my partner had his stroke.Jo here his partner/carer/driver etc.Its been a crazy ride for us both as our whole world changed in an instant ! The realization that life as we knew it would be different was a huge adjustment for us both.Ron is not working nor driving and has limited support from friends who havent managed to be there !!! He is not the same man as before but he is the love of my life and he is still my Ronnie.We live outside a small rural town with no public transport hence the driver tag ! Alongside the battles of acceptance for me was one unexpected one for me and that was with Centrelink...Ron currently on Newstart allowance with a dispensation not to look for work.Just another hurdle to jump ! I want to thank all that contribute to this site as it has helped us both as we know we are not alone and thanks to enable me for the opportunity to hear our voices.
