I would really wish for a government to say to stroke survivors no matter what age they are that:
- yes they can get energy support due to their increased sensitivity to hot/cold temperatures without having to first qualify for pension or other cards. (Presently the State and Federal both have this as a criteria)
- yes they are entitled to claim medical and therapy expenses (percentage) as a tax deduction (as they are trying to improve their lot and supporting that goal financially). They do not get any other tax break.
- yes the tax structure can actually create a category on medical condition (stroke/inability to work on medical grounds over extended period of time in a financial year or something) where people have provided for themselves in the form of Income protection, to change either the threshold or the reduce the tax rate.
