It doesn't work seeing your brain is damaged .
Thanks. The idea is it stops the signals of pain running down my arm. I know it won't cure me but as long as it helps with the pain
Hi Mick,
Thank-you for your post regarding Deep Brain Simulator.
We are very sorry to hear about your strokes and the pain you are experiencing post your strokes. Chronic pain after stroke can be debilitating and all efforts should be undertaken to investigate any local causes of pain. Central post-stroke pain (CPSP) is especially challenging as the current evidence provides little reliable data to make recommendations for routine practice.
It is important to note that currently Deep Brain Simulator is considered an experimental treatment with possible serious side effects, and our Living Clinical Guidelines for Stroke Management "any non-pharmacological interventions trialed are strongly encouraged to be used within a research framework."
You may also wish to seek a second opinion if you have further questions or concerns regarding the advice offered.
Best wishes,
Strokeline
