My dad has gone back to hospital after his stroke a few months ago.
he has been in complete denial that he's even had a stroke.
i am his daughter, his only family and I'm only 24.
ive made a go fund me page to help cover his overdue bills and mortgage as we aren't entitled to help from the government.

Do you know about our free call support number StrokeLine? You can call and talk to a health professional, who may be able to offer you some information that will be helpful.
They can take you through all the options that are available for financial support also.

I'm really sorry to hear about your Dad's stroke- sounds like you're both going through a really hard time.
If your dad is still in hospital, make sure you connect with the social worker there. Otherwise, the Victorian Health Community search engine will help you locate a social worker - try contacting your local community health centre. If you are receiving any government benefits the social worker at Centrelink can help you too. We suggest getting this kind of support as it sounds like there is a lot going on and it helps to talk it through with someone and make sure also you are getting all the assistance you are entitled to.

Thank you for sharing how you are feeling. I hope things are looking up now. My daughter who is only 10 would be able to really relate to your post as she strongly feels the affects of my husband's stroke and I think she would also say that her Dad has denial problems. I hope the hospital social worker was able to help and that you find a really lovely temporary aged care placement - he ought to be eligible for transition care to home in an aged care facility, but every hospital admission is different :(
