Recovery & Photography Group No.2

 There are always some dark times but  you can always find some light.  In the end it'll be bright. 

During my recovery especially early on - I had a need to look back at photos of myself from growing up - the want to continue to weave myself into my future life and not to dismiss my past.  Very important to me that I followed my instincts in recovery.  And if by looking at old photos helped then that's what I did.

Hi Sue, 

Look at you. I am going to take a guess that you were a sport athletic star by the two ribbons on your chest. I used to have the same ribbons, blue for first, red of second, and green for third. I still have a couple of these in the back corner under some boxes. How fantastic you kept them!

Before my oldest son went to uni, I told the family that I wanted to show them a lot of old photographs of  my father and mother, brothers, and them when they were young. At the start, my were more interested in their iPhones, but slowly, little by little, they became more and more absorbed of how we have changed. It was a very great night, laughing and trying to remember names and places we have been. 

Yes, it is important to see where you have been and who you have been with. Very important. As you know, I love taking photographs, so my kids will have to deal with all these an old albums, videos, and computer albums.

The Sun and My Hills

The sun shining through the clouds, a very nice shot of the mountains looking all mysterious and deep.

My school photo of our sports day: I chose this photo to show because I still remember the prickly feeling of this uniform - we had a small school and wore regular clothes apart from this sports uniform for our 2 sports events for the year.

The prickly feeling of the uniform as I wore it reminds me of the prickly feeling my clothes gave me when in rehab and trying to get dressed when all the fabrics seemed so rough, something I didn't pay attention to with everything else so difficult but when I look at this photo thats what I get.

The ribbons on my chest - actually I wasn't sporty, they were from being in a relay that happened to come a place.  I was the one who ran up to the high jump and then stopped because I didn't want to jump over!

Funny when I think of the the hurdles I have jumped, clambered and crawled over since my stroke event.

Whoops I pressed post before finishing - anyways hope your week is going well and I will scout around for some more photos.
