Pharmacy apps

The app sounds great - like a tech version of a Webster pack, which any pharmacist will make for free.

On the subject, I knowmany stroke survivors are very worried about the drugs thay are taking and potential side effects and interactions.

I really recommend you ask your pharmacist first about any worries. You'll find they are a wealth of knowledge and, in fact really appreciate questions and the chance to offer advice on medications!.

The blog is awesome, but it doesn't name the apps which help manage medications. My purpose in starting the conversation was so that members of this community could share particular apps that they're using and not just name the app from the pharmacy and app I use.

I've just posted in the thread of that blog about some of the apps. There are a number of apps on the market now. Chemist Warehouse have recently released their own as Karen has mentioned. Med Advisor and Medicine List are two others. It seems different pharmacies are using different apps to help their customers better manage their medication. There is another medication management conversation happening here you might be interested in.

We recommend speaking to your pharmacist and your GP to find out what is the best medication management plan for you and what app your pharmacy may be using and whether it meets your needs. They all appear to have slightly different features.

We found it nearly impossible to manage escripts for multiple prescriptions when we are travelling. Every pharmacy has their own app. Every Chemist Warehouse is separate. We try to get by having them print the tokens for repeats and carry those, otherwise we have a mountain of text messages on our phones for repeats, new medications, ceased medications etc.

I took 4 regular medications pre-stroke, and now have an extra one. My wife has 10 to 12 prescriptions dispensed each month. We usually just run a spreadsheet/list of what we need, how many repeats are remaining etc
