EnableMe | enableme - stroke recovery and support

Well, good afternoon everybody, hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful sunny day..... well it is in Sydney, anyway.....for a change.... So, have a question. My outdoor Walker got totally destroyed by a teenager who obviously needs to visit Specsavers. It needed to be replaced anyway, as it was looking a little bit scabby. Now being a young stroke survivor, the Walker needs to be practical, take a lot of abuse and, well, dare I say it, look trendy. So my current Walker is a "Drive" and I have to say, I've been fairly happy with it, although, tough, its NOT. The carbon fibre is certainly not offsetting the amount of crap I store in it. So what I would like to ask is, What are my peeps pushing about? Is there a particular style/brand/look I am missing out on? Would love to know your thoughts.

Hi Setten, I have no answers to your question but I too am in the market for a walker, fore arm support walker though, similar however, I have been trialling different ones and yet to find the right one. Was wondering whether it is possible to have both a walker that allows you to be nicely upright and stride out as well as a good seat for when you need it or do you have to choose between good stride or good seat? That is where my struggle is, I too need a really good robust outdoor one as that is where I mostly use it, I have one on hire currently, a carbon fibre one, nice and light for me to get in and out of car but not as robust as I need, I find it is a bit tippy seat small not comfortable (broken coccyx). I tried a much sturdier one which I loved but my legs hit the seat (good seat) when I walk properly in it as I don't want to adjust my gait or posture to use it. I will follow your question with interest, hopefully you get some great feedback
