That's right Jenny , the shared moments are very  moving to be a part of ! I'm glad that's something you can recall with fondness and you had someone with you to witness your thumb moving .

Lots of memories Jenny , choosing one which brings a smile to my face is when I started participating in balance group as part rehab. The absolute joy I found in sitting in a circle with other people who had experienced strokes. Us all needing to throw bean bags into a hoop as our exercise. And the laughter from us all as bean bags went flying in all directions . 

The strength I feel when I recall this is the same strength I feel participating in EnableMe. That's why I'm on here so often !

Sue I am having the.same problem with this site. Last weekend posts would post then shortly afterwards disappear. I acknowledged your response.  Shall try again. I too recall funny moments in rehab. Our OT set 5 of us up for making shortbread just before. Was hilarious as each of us had only one functioning arm. All we had to do was knead. Actually the shortbread of all shapes was quite nice.

Ha , that does sound like a fun activity to be a part of. And doing it as part of a group is not so lonely. I look forward to hearing what others share.

Thanks for starting this conversation Jenny and to Sue for joining in. My significant moment unfortunately is not a funny one,but will share it nevertheles. I remember the pride I felt she my physio actually let out a squeal when he saw my knee extending for the first time in standing position after many failed attempts. I used to also slay it on the tilt table  extending my knee Without hyper extending it while many other stroke survivors  mostly men who seemed fitter than I were having trouble on the til it table.  I am quite a competetive person naturally and was into sports when I was younger, so the last significant moment ie, the walking race which the physio organised in the gym where. I beat a  male stroke survivor who was an exurb you player, fitter and stronger than I has stayed with me, giving me so much strength at times I feel that I can't keep going on with  excercises. As for my left arm and hand, nothing so far but am hopeful that the significant moment cannot be that far yet! I'll keep trying though almost. 5 

Couldn't finish my earlier post.... I was trying to say that I'll keep trying to reach a significant moment in my arm/hand rehab  though I'm 5 years post stroke already. Love and best wishes to you both and cheers to many more milestones :)
