Stroke Foundation commends the Queensland Government’s commitment to improving health services for its regional residents, in particular yesterday’s discussion in Parliament around implementing a Telestroke across the state.
Queensland is the only state without a Telestroke service, and the issue was raised in Parliament last week by the Member for Hill, Shane Knuth MP. Watch the video here (Facebook).
In response, Health Minister Yvette D’Ath said Telestroke is “under consideration as part of the development of a QLD virtual stroke service.
A special thank you Niola Sparkles Baker, and Jan C for all their hard work advocating in QLD, we can see that their efforts, are really paying off. It illustrates how important grass roots advocating is!
Stroke Foundation is hopeful the Queensland Government will see value in a focused and evidence-based service like Telestroke and will commit to giving all Queenslanders the best chance of recovering and living well after stroke. #fightstroke
