Difficulties in finding shoes after stroke

Thank you Diana for sharing Ida's experience with wearing  shoes /thongs. i too have little or no movement yet in my affected foot to keep most of the shoes,sandals or thongs I own. I also have a problem of turning my ankle outward when walking on uneven surfaces.I have finally found some comfy shoes that I am able to walk in since my stroke 3 years ago. These are homyped shoes that I purchase from the Blooms chemist Also available online at www.homyped.com.au .I am sharing this info so, that  hopefully someone will find this it useful

Another useful link for those who need more structured footwear but aren't limited by having to fit an AFO too.  Is this shop in Melbourne. https://www.thewalkingcompany.com.au/ I wear flat mary janes for work, straps rather than shoe laces , much easier for one handed living, and these people stock a range of pretty ones.  I was also able to get sandles with an anatomical footbed, open toe but a properly structured heel  which I've found makes a big difference as my heel strike ability is very limited.
