Before I had my stroke 18 months ago at age 52, I was learning classical guitar. The stroke affected the left side of my body, and I still have trouble with prosody.
Despite therapy, my ring finger and little finger do not really 'follow orders', the rest of my hand is weak as is my arm.
About one month ago, I started to think about playing the guitar again, but felt that it was a vain hope given my left hand problems. So I went to a local music shop where one of the mangers, after hearing of my situation, suggested that I try slide guitar (where I put a brass tube over a finger on my left hand).
Well, I am all signed up for slide guitar lessons and am starting to make music again.
As the manager said.."There is always a way to make music"
