Hi everyone,
My name is Lucy and I am the trial co-ordinator for a Telehealth Sleep and Fatigue Treatment Study at the Monash Epworth Rehabilitation Research Centre. I have posted on EnableMe previously and have spoken to many wonderful individuals who have taken part in our research. We are still looking for participants, and if you have problems with sleep and fatigue this research might be suitable for you. Our study is conducted via telehealth, so no face-to-face contact is required to keep everyone safe amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
We are trialling 2 treatments for improving sleep and fatigue difficulties following acquired brain injury - Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Health Education Therapy. Participation involves in 8 x 1 hour treatment sessions with a Clinical Neuropsychologist, and 4 sessions with a researcher. There will also be periods throughout the study where you wear a watch that measures your sleep, and fill out a diary tracking your sleep and fatigue symptoms.
If you have had sleep and fatigue difficulties since your brain injury, you may be suitable for our study. We are seeking participants aged between 16-70 who are at least 3 months post-injury, and who have significant difficulties with sleep and fatigue. We are recruiting nationally in Australia. To be able to take part in the telehealth component, you need to have a laptop or tablet/iPad with a front facing camera and internet connection.
For more information about the study, you can read our flyer which is found here: https://tinyurl.com/
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or are interested in taking part in this research by emailing lucy.ymer@monash.edu
Thank you for your time in reading this post.
