This year the World Stroke Organization is asking us to remind people of the importance of time.
When somebody has a stroke, every second that goes by is crucial. As brain tissue and millions of neurons begin to fade away, time could not be more precious. The #Precioustime campaign aims to raise awareness of stroke signs and the benefits of timely access to emergency medical care.
Here’s what to do:
1 Find a clock –this can be an iconic clock in your city, the train station clock on your commute, or even the watch on the end of your wrist.
2 Take a selfie with the clock in the background (or get someone to take a photo of you if you want to avoid the awkward angles!)
3 Head over to here www.worldstrokecampaign.org/create-a-post to create and download a bespoke message about the importance of knowing the signs of stroke. (I’ve attached our publicity shot as an example)
4 Share on your socials – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram- with the hashtag #Precioustime sharing a link to the campaign website to encourage others to join the campaign.
