Saran talks about the first year and trying to find the 'me’ she was before her stroke. Saran fought her deficits, she fought not being about to go back to work – essentially, she was fighting herself.
It wasn't until she had found some level of acceptance, and this can be lifelong, that she felt she began to move forward.
And who helped her to do that? For her, it was other people who had had a stroke - that's who.
So, what has moved you forward in your life after having a stroke? There will be someone in this community that needs to hear what you did, and it may make all the difference for them......
