“Hello to my fellow stroke peeps out there. I would like to highlight the importance of not having a fall. I was traveling very nicely and recovering from quite a large stroke. Then in May I had a simple fall breaking the head of my femur. This required surgery and a stay of three months in various hospital and rehab facilities. Even though some parts of my body have recovered or progressed others have taken a back step. Muscle deterioration and mandatory bedrest have taken a toll on developing my walking. I now find myself in August and about to be released from rehab again - into the ‘Wild World’! Note to myself: Please don't fall again, here end-eth the lesson.”

Hi Diana,

Very sorry to hear about  your fall and subsequent injury. Tough break, I also  fell and broke two ligaments in my left shoulder, lucky my right side is my good side. Now 15 months later after an operation and rehab I'm much better, but when I'm tired and my balance is not good  I use my walker or mobility scooter   to get about and lessen my falls risk.

Use aids and help to get the best you can so you can enjoy life and have some independence.

Take care and best wishes for the future.

Dean .
