Hi everyone. being a Stroke Safe Ambassador means a lot to me and giving back to the Stroke Foundation is something tangible I can do!
Stroke Week is an opportunity to share stroke awareness, allow others to become involved and like Toni said, even if ONE person saves a life through FAST, then it's all worthwhile.
>I talked to our local Parkrun yesterday (Saturday)
>Monday I start off stroke week with local MP Mark McArdle (fingers crossed the Tv will be there to spread the message)
>Radio interview tomorrow
>Wednesday I have organised a 'My Health for Life' and Stroke Awareness event at our local shopping centre with a grant we got from the Stroke Foundation (pays the nurse to do BP checks for 5 hours!)
>I've just finished scheduling posts on my FB page for the next 7 days (Sue, Ive scheduled Phil's photo for later in the week)
>Offering my book, A Stroke of Poetry for a reduced price! yay! (and $2 still donated to the Stroke Foundation)
>Hopefully sleeping in between all that!
Love the buzz of everything going on but yes, it's hard work.
I think Stroke Week allows the public to listen, read and share stroke info in a formal, well informed manner and brings attention to stroke because its a whole week dedicated to it.
I'm rambling now - will share photos on my FB page.
have a good week everyone.
