Hi
Thank you for contacting the Stroke foundation.
Sorry to hear about your stroke, glad that you were able to get to the hospital so quickly.
Recovery from stroke can often feel overwhelming, I wonder was any rehabilitation such as physiotherapy or Occupational therapy organised for you. If not your GP might be a good place to start having a conversation about your options.
In terms of your mobility/right leg. A physiotherapist or physical therapist can assess your current level of function and provide you with exercises that can help facilitate recovery. You may like to speak to your GP and discuss whether a referral is appropriate. The other option would be to seek a specific therapist using the Australian Physiotherapy Association website Find a Physio. Using this site, you can specify a location, treatment (such as neurology) and interest area such as stroke recovery.
Changes in sensation and muscles are common after stroke. An Occupational therapist or a physiotherapist may be able to guide you on the most appropriate exercises and evidence based techniques to help with any changes to muscles or sensory retraining
