Wow Joe, my stroke happened in Hong and I was in hospital there for nearly three weeks before I was stabilized and cleared to return to Australia. My only advice is that you will really need to advocate and push for meaningful attention for your wife and preferably get your wife home as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I found the rehab in Hong Kong was short and sporadic and much less targeted to specific goals. Fortunately, when I returned, I was immediately admitted to the Rehab ward at Robina Hospital, which was amazing and got me back on my feet to embark on the long road to recovery.
Hi David
Thanks for your reply and apologies for being so long in getting back to you. My wife now is able to vocalise and she says things to us. Some times we understand other times she is just vocalising. She wants to get up and walk but she is not able to use her legs to support herself ,they are very strong and mobile how ever. The main target is to get her to respond to commands.
