It sounds like you have done the right thing and already been to see your optometrist which is great.

Your next step would be to seek a GP referral to see a Neurologist.

They will be able to further investigate and clarify the reasons behind what may be causing this recent vision change for you

Vision impairment related to stroke is often a loss of vision caused by damage to the areas of the brain that are responsible for sight.

If this is the case unfortunately glasses or contact lenses generally won’t help, because The vision impairment is due to damage to the brain and not the eyes.
