Hi Kate,
Thank you for your enquiry. We suggest you speak with your doctor about your recent symptoms. They will have your full medical history and can provide advice, treatment and a diagnosis.
Your doctor may investigate peripheral neuropathy, particularly if you have a history of diabetes. They can also refer you to a specialist and arrange the appropriate investigations to get a clearer understanding of what is going on. Given the nature of the symptoms being pins and needles and aches of the extremities on both sides that come and go it doesn't appear to be stroke symptoms. If you have stroke like symptoms please call 000 immediately. You can read more about stroke signs here.
If you'd like to discuss further you can call to speak to one of our health professionals on StrokeLine 1800 787 653 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm).
Best wishes,
Simone, StrokeLine
