Hi Carrie,
Thank you so much for your question. We are sorry to hear about your stroke.
Unfortunately we cannot give you advice on medication as we are a team of health professionals, not medical professionals. Most medication comes with potential side effects. We would suggest discussing any questions about your medication and potential side effects with your doctor or pharmacist.

Don’t hesitate to call us at any stage if you need any other advice, information or support on StrokeLine 1800 787 653 (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm).
Best wishes,
Joey and Simone, StrokeLine
Thank you both, for your useful responses. I am now being weaned off the gabapentin, as I am hoping my pain levels have improved, and to rest my liver. 🤞🏻
Carrie.
Our pleasure Carrie. We hope so too. Please reach out again if you need anything else. Have you been to a pain clinic or to a pain program to help manage the neuropathic pain? Pain clinics have a multi-disciplinary approach to managing pain and the team usually include a doctor, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, psychologist, nurse and social worker.
