Hi Ozfarmer,
This sounds like an upsetting situation and I can appreciate that you're wanting some answers.
Unfortunately it can sometimes take a while to get a clear diagnosis. The tests that you're having done will hopefully give your medical team more information to help solve the puzzle so hang in there!
I'm glad to hear that you have been seen by the cardiologist. Have you had the initial appointment with the neurologist? In the meantime, I would encourage you to see your GP and share your concerns. You may be able to get the cardiology appointment brought forward.
My other recommendations is that you, or someone with you, calls 000 when your symptoms first occur. The ambulance team will be able to provide you with advice on what to do to keep yourself safe during the episode and can help decide if a transfer to hospital is required.
Please don't hesitate to contact us on StrokeLine (1800 787 653) Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm EST if we can be of any further assistance.
Best wishes,
Alana - Speech Pathologist for StrokeLine
