Hi Ken,
Did the stroke also affect your leg movement? If so, have you seen a physiotherapist about the swelling? Swelling in the hands and/or feet can occur if the muscles are weak and immobile.
It sounds like it was a very hot day which wouldn’t have helped the situation. Putting your feet up would certainly help. If your movement hasn’t been significantly affected by the stroke, moving around will also help reduce the swelling. It would be worthwhile discussing this with your GP as well.
