Hello Sarah
Thank you for reaching out on EnableMe and I am sorry to hear of your stroke two years ago. It can certainly be challenging when the cause of your stroke has not been confirmed. I hope that your recovery has been progressing well?
In regards to returning to scuba diving, you will need to speak with your Gp and neurologist regarding this. PADI (the Professional Association of Diving Instructors) will require anyone starting to dive, or returning to diving after a medical condition to undergo a medical screening and possible examination to ensure you are fit to dive. The Medical questionnaire does however state that neurological abnormalities affecting a diver’s ability to perform exercise should be assessed according to the degree of compromise, so if you have no ongoing impairments, your Doctor may assess you as fit to return to diving. You can find the Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire here.
I would suggest that you make a time to speak with your Doctor initially and discuss with them the need to see your neurologist.
Hopefully there will be others who have been in your situation who may also comment on EnableMe.
