Hi Shelley,
There are a number of different options on the market to aid stroke recovery. Is your mother still seeing a rehabilitation team? It is helpful to liaise with the treating occupational therapist or physiotherapist about the best option for your mum. They will have a good understanding of what is appropriate given her current abilities and what is available. Otherwise it can be quite overwhelming trying to do your own research. Health professionals can also help your mum set up any rehab equipment and monitor progress at home.
There are a few discussions about the FitMi from other stroke survivors here. Stroke affects each person differently and what is appropriate for one person may not be the best for another.
If your mum isn't seeing a physio or OT currently, we suggest you give our health professionals a call on StrokeLine 1800 787 653 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) to discuss your mother's function and potential options for ongoing rehabilitation, including devices like FitMi.
Kind regards,
Simone (Occupational Therapist for StrokeLine)
