Is there anywhere to get good information advice on recovery/prognosis following a sub arachnoid bleed onto the brain stem?

My wife suffered a sub arachnoid bleed onto the brain stem at the beginning of March. I understand from all the medical and rehab professionals that this is a very rare event or rare for survival from such an event. However it's so frustrating to have so little information available.

Hi,

A brain stem stroke can be life threatening as the brain stem controls important body functions like breathing, swallowing, hear rate and consciousness.

A neurologist will be able to provide more specific information about your wife’s prognosis however it’s important to keep in mind that stroke is a complex condition, and depending on the severity of stroke, people can make wonderful recoveries. The concept of neuroplasticity means that with rehabilitation, practice and repetition, the brain can re-wire and build new pathways for re-learning a skill.
