Is it ok for dad to use a magnetic hand massager on his left leg and arm?

Dad had a severe stroke 12 months ago. Six months after the stroke he had a head massage which caused a serious seizure. He had a massage months ago and feels that it may have contributed to a seizure. He's nervous about using the hand massager but it doesn't seem to cause any adverse effect.

Hi there,

 

I’m sorry to hear about your father’s stroke and the seizure he has had. I would suggest speaking to his neurologist or GP about whether to continue with the magnet massager.

 

Is he seeing an occupational therapist and/or physiotherapist at this stage? If so, I’d also suggest chatting to them about the best way to manage his arm and leg function.
