Hi Mark,
Thank you for your question. The persistent “cold” like symptoms sound uncomfortable and frustrating. Issues with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) can occur after a stroke, where fluid can leak and escape through the nose. We are health professionals, and unfortunately are unable to give medical advice or a diagnosis. 3.5 years is a long time to be dealing with this though.
We suggest you get a review from your local doctor or neurologist who can investigate, hopefully provide a clear diagnosis and offer treatment options. If you have seen your local doctor or neurologist and it hasn’t helped resolve the issue, we suggest getting a second opinion.
Here is a resource on Getting good health care that might be helpful.
