Stem cell research is an interesting development and has the potential to benefit stroke patients in the future. However, it is still in the early stages of development and needs to complete appropriate and human clinical trials before use in people with stroke.
The Stroke Foundation strongly supports research that could lead to breakthroughs in stroke recovery and are aware of important stem cell stroke research in Australia and elsewhere. You may like to read a recent media release of ours here and an article and video in the Herald Sun here.
