My in laws have offered to take my wife on a day trip to York in WA. This involves going up the darling escarpment and results in a large change in air pressure causing your ears to pop. My wife has had coils and a stent put in after her aneurysm 2 1/2 years ago. Will the pressure changes cause any problems with regard to these repairs? If so I will cancel the trip if there is any possibility of danger.

Thank you for reaching out to EnableMe and I am sorry to hear about your wife’s aneurysm and surgery.

 In regards to the trip and the change in air pressure, it would be best to speak with your wife’s neurologist if she still sees one, or speak with her regular Gp. They would be able to best advise your wife on whether this was a safe activity as they are aware of her past history and current medical status.

We would always recommend medical clearance for any travel/ experiences post a stroke or aneurysm, so medical professionals would be the best people to answer this question.
