Hi there,
I’m so sorry to hear about your mother’s stroke and the emotional changes she is now experiencing.
Neudexta appears to have an approved trademark in Australia for the pharmaceutical company that produces it, but has not been approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for use in Australia, nor have any clinical trials in Australia been undertaken.
Is your mother currently under the care of a neurologist? If not, we would suggest that her GP refers her to a neurologist (with a specialty in stroke) and also to a clinical psychologist (who also specialises in stroke). She could then be formally assessed and this would also determine the best way to manage her symptoms.
With a bit more information, we may be able to provide you with specific advice. You are more than welcome to give us a call if you’d like to chat further (StrokeLine – 1800 787 653),
Best Wishes,
Lisa (StrokeLine)
