Pregnancy after a TIA

2 ResponsesI'm 39 and at age 37 had a TIA. I've recovered fully but like most am on various medications, one being warfarin.
I have two wonderful boys and around the time this happened was about to begin trying for a third child. Now apart from the fact that I must not get pregnant on warfarin and would need a medication change, I just don't know how to go about finding out if it's even a possibility for me to consider having another baby. I've never seen a neurologist, saw a cardiologist briefly and apart from annual visits to the vascular ward to have my neck scanned (I had a right ICA Thrombus which was determined as likely embolic in nature) have only ever seen a GP.
I've recently been referred to a psychologist to help me come to terms with everything that happened including how to cope with not having any more children. However, I still feel like no one has ever actually said I can't, and whilst I'm already a lot older than most, I don't want to regret never officially talking to someone about it. I just don't know where to begin and I guess I feel a bit silly going back to the GP and talking about this seeing as they didn't say anything when I explained how I was feeling about everything and they referred me to the psychologist.
