Why is my foot pad on my affected leg swelling more than my left leg? I'm taking smaller steps - why?

Hello,

Thank you for your question. I would suggest seeing your GP and describing the swelling you are experiencing with your foot. Seeing a physiotherapist or a podiatrist might also help answer your questions about your foot and with regards to your question about taking smaller steps. Your GP should be able to refer you to the appropriate health professional.

If you require a physiotherapist, there is a “Find a Physio” tool on the Australian Physiotherapy Association website where you can locate an appropriate physiotherapist near you. Otherwise your GP should be able to refer you to one.

Sorry we cannot answer your questions as you would be best assisted in person. The GP will be able to assess who you should see about your foot.

If you have any questions about the above, please don’t hesitate to reply. Alternatively you are welcome to call us on StrokeLine, 1800 787 653 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm).

Kind regards

Kathryn (StrokeLine)
