Hi George,
Firstly, we are so sorry to hear of your wife’s stroke and the seizure she has had. It must have been very distressing for you both. As in your wife's situation, some stroke survivors can unfortunately go on to experience a seizure. Those with certain types of strokes are at an increased risk of seizures. These include those with bleeds rather than blockages, severe strokes and those involving the cortex part of the brain.
Have you had discussions with a neurology team about reducing the risk of further seizures?
We also greatly appreciate your feedback. We are always looking to improve enableme to ensure our content meets the needs of our audience. I have passed on your suggestion to Chris, our content writer, who plans to include information about seizures. In the meantime, you may find this information sheet useful: Seizures and Epilepsy.
Perhaps other stroke survivors and families impacted by seizures will also share experiences.
Please don’t hesitate to give us a call on StrokeLine (1800 787 653) if you have any questions,
Thanks again and all the best,
Lisa (StrokeLine)
