CPR and first aid for people who use a wheelchair

Who it’s for: Survivors of stroke, family members or carers, health professionals, people who haven’t had a stroke

Where: Online (anywhere) and in-person TAS

Summary:

Do you use a wheelchair? Or do you care for a person or people who use a wheelchair?

This study is looking at ways to provide CPR or first aid or choking care to wheelchair users.

It is being conducted by Elisha Deegan, PhD candidate, School of Nursing and Midwifery at Western Sydney University.

Eligibility:

  • People with lived experience of wheelchair use
  • Formal or informal carers
  • Healthcare professionals
  • Can communicate in English.

Activity:

A 30–60 minute interview with the researcher by zoom, or phone, or face to face if located in Northern Tasmania.
