Goal setting to support stroke and brain injury rehabilitation and recovery

Summary:
Researchers from Flinders University are seeking feedback about a goal-setting app, called RehabChat, which has been designed to support people with stroke or brain injury to set rehabilitation goals and achieve these. RehabChat was co-designed with clinicians and people with brain injury.
The feedback gathered in this project about RehabChat will help guide how this app may be used in the future.
Eligibility:
Any of the following:
- Adults living with stroke or brain injury, living in the community and able to use a hand-held or other type of computing device for the app.
- Carers or family members for adults living with stroke or brain injury.
- Health professionals providing rehabilitation care to adult clients with stroke or brain injury.
- Health students studying at an Australian University who have completed a clinical placement in which they provided rehabilitation care for adult clients.
Activity:
Each participant will take part in a single feedback session of between 60–90 minutes with the researcher, to discuss goal-setting, and to use RehabChat and provide feedback on it.
The session will include:
- completing two questionnaires
- semi-structured interview questions about rehabilitation and goal setting
- using the RehabChat app.
Locations in Adelaide include:
Flinders University sites (Tonsley, Bedford Park, Victoria Square, Repat Health Sciences Building), or alternatively, use of a private room in a public library.
