Summary:

Researchers from the University of Technology Sydney are seeking three (3) lived-experience partners to join the Allen Study Advisory Committee.

The Allen Study aims to explore the health, health care use and health behaviours of adults living post-stroke over a long period of time. The study will provide an opportunity (in partnership with those with lived experience) to help inform effective support and care and ensure the health and well-being of those living following a stroke.

Eligibility:

  • Lived experience of stroke as a survivor, carer or family member;
  • aged 18 years or over; and
  • able to read and understand English.

Activity:

Being a member of the Allen Study Advisory Committee will involve attending meetings and providing input, reflection and advice on study design, progress, procedure and decision-making.

  • Meetings will be held 2–3 times per year and will run for 1–2 hours.
  • Regular breaks will be included during meetings.
  • Pre-reading will be kept to a minimum, anticipated as no more than 30 minutes per meeting.
  • Meetings will be held on-site at the campus of University of Technology Sydney, Ultimo, NSW, where possible. Members may also join meetings online.
