Yes you can stand after 12 months of physio , and the will power , I can stand with the helper balancing me but can't take a step . Lot of hard work but I can stand , problem is my balance doesn't work .Th's why i have a carer , to pick me up ; timberr ... Not bad for some one who has lost the use of his , r/leg and r/arm , and lost balance .

I want to be able to stand up and greet my family and friends instead of sitting and them bending down to me to give me a hug

Yes, this is one of my main goals - to meet and greet like before the stroke. I find it extremely difficult to hug though, as it leaves me slightly off balance & the hug feels awkward. Any recommendations?
Bending for a hug , no let them bend and improve the hugs , after all their not disabled .
