Hi Bala,
I had a cerebellum ischaemic stroke almost 6 years ago at the age of 66 that affected my balance.
I used a wheel chair for about 3 weeks and then progressed to a walking stick.
When I was discharged from the rehab hospital I had 10 weeks of group exercise with a very competent and experienced physio about 55 years. She designed balance exercises specifically for me.
When I got home I did these balance exercises every day and made the exercises more difficult as I improved.
I did the exercises every day for an hour per day for a year and brain neuroplasticity developed.
Recently I had my balance tested in a research trial and to my amazement it was better than average for my age group.
So I have been lucky but my perseverance paid dividends.
Good luck,
Ian.
