Hi Troy,
Here are some answers from the Facebook community:
Pip Hicks I had a very similar goal just to be able to walk out of my house ,down to the street , have a coffee and back again!! Yes please
I can do that daily now you’ll get there ,patience, tenacity, you’ll get there!! š
Pip Hicks After reading your list _ Don’t always believe what professionals -except from the foundation -say either as they do not know the determination of you - only you know that- I was never going to get out the chair apparently!
Eleanor Horton Small steps do increase. My partner came out of rehab in spring so we used to go to all the large furniture shops where you could park at the door and this way he could increase his steps in air conditioning and with a lot of seats to try out and rest when he needed to. Gradually he didn’t need to rest as much so we moved out of the furniture shops. Just an idea.
Felipe Kunze Garcia Being young is on your advantage, things do get better. Stay focused and positive. Will be happy to share my story with you if you need to talk to another survivor. I had a mayor stroke 3yr ago, I was 37 at the time.
You can do it!
Laine Yates Definitely keep positive & Set yourself little goals. Walk to the rubbish bin/tree/shrubs/Bloke sitting on park bench etc. then the next day, see if u can go a little further to the next point/goal.
Allow yourself a rest in between each goal as u need to listen to your body to not overdo it. Unfortunately it’s very normal to b so fatigued that u will need a day in bed - but that’s ok - listen to ur body. There is no rush ... take each day as it comes & keep trying. Every little bit will help u get to ur end game. Sending u love & light for your recovery!! šš
Jade Bolam Keep at it Troy! Every little bit of progress builds up and before you know it you'll be able to go on walks without stopping so frequently! You got this šŖ
Eyeza Hurd You may not be able to do it right now but don't give up on your dreams
Stay strong you will get there
Duncan Mitchell My comments echo the others, jeep going small progress is still progress and it all adds up.
Maryann Darmody Stay strong & stay positive. You can make little advances that will add up to make big gains
