Hi Jenny, I'm eight years post stroke but still have fatigue , balance and walking problems. How ever, over the last year I've joined a Balance adventure group, Once a week a qualified aged care fitness instructor takes us through an hour of gentle exercises to help us stand and balance . We build strength and flexibility in our bodies and then practise at home. Most of the class are in their 70.s or eighties or have a chronic disability. We all make progress and its helped us not to fall. There's Gogvernment information called " Dont Fall For It" is also good. You'll get confidence and improve your abitilty to walk and balance unaided. So find a qualifided instructor at a community centre or some where convienent,, and join a group to get support and build strength and confidence.
