Gary Frauenfelder - i look for peoples experiences at the same period of time as I am as the future is different for everyone and I dont want to be scared for the future which might hold me back now

Will Johns - After my stroke 3 weeks ago im left with fatigue . Im still not back at work yet but due to my work being physical ( butcher) im concerned with lasting the day . Everything else seems fine.

Lee McKenna - I guess I. Learned. That being stubborn is. A really good thing And keep trying never give up.

Gina Qu- I have learned that even after 2 years that I still get tired but have simple daily goals and long term goals however life can be overwhelming.. but don't give up.

Meliame Tauali'i - Fifita - Something I was told and believe is true is your rehab is better in your own home environment. Its scary at first coming home after having a stroke because everything is different from when you were there before your stroke, your different but gradually things will fall into place. Good luck.

Pip Hicks - Take things slowly - don’t rush back to work - your brain is still recovering from a traumatic experience- be kind to it!
Recovery is slow, hard work and frustrating- your family has to be patient , be supportive and yes time - it has to be your friend
Everyone is different but in general the above applies to most.

Dianne Allison - I think everyone’s life after stroke is individual because everyone’s stroke is different. It might pay to segment questions and responses depending on what type of stroke people had.
My stroke was an ischemic stroke in my left cerebellum. Freak occurrence, not lifestyle related. It was mild and my balance has been effected. My recovery and care would be completely different to someone who had a major stroke with paralysis. I didn’t have any surgery, so I didn’t have to recover from that type of thing either.
I didn’t wait to go to a hospital linked physio and went private within days of getting out of hospital. They have been invaluable for me.
I’m back at work fulltime but it’s really hard to say if all of my fatigue is stroke related, or lockdown fatigue because I live in Melbourne. I’m grateful though that I don’t have to catch a train to work and add another 2 hours to my day - there’s no way I would be back at work full time if that was the case (covid silver lining!).
I don’t necessarily fatigue easily, my concentration is good, but once I’m tired it’s like I’ve hit a wall and I need to rest.
I’m 46 as well, so I would think age adds another factor to recovery.
