Summary:
La Trobe University is conducting Incorporating personal and social factors to increase physical activity in stroke survivors: A co-design study
This study is about returning to meaningful physical activities after stroke. The team hope to develop a process of clinical practice which will support health professionals in helping people return to participating in meaningful social and community activities after stroke.
Eligibility:
Adults who have had a stroke, who can speak a minimum of conversational English, and with cognition (memory and thinking ability) sufficient to allow them to understand the research study outline and provide informed consent.
Activity:
Two workshops, expected to last roughly 1–1.5 hours each. The first workshop will be on 15 September 2023 with other survivors or stroke, and family members and/or carers.
Participants will attend the second workshop early 2024 (date TBC) together with survivors of stroke, family members and/or carers, and health professionals.
The workshops will include a brief explanation of the research project, and a group discussion with prompts and questions, to hear your experiences following your stroke. The workshops can also be done with participants individually if required.
